ABAY-CHR (Connected Health Record) is an innovative digital health and AI-enabled health intelligence platform transforming healthcare delivery across Africa and beyond. It was created to address one of the most critical challenges facing health systems: fragmented, siloed, and unreliable patient information.
ABAY-CHR provides a secure, interoperable, and patient-centred connected health record designed to improve continuity of care, support data-driven decision-making, and strengthen health system resilience. Its adaptable architecture makes it suitable for diverse settings, including urban hospitals, rural clinics, community health programmes, veterinary services, and One Health initiatives.
Building on its connected health record foundation, ABAY-CHR is expanding into AI-powered health intelligence, including clinical decision support, retrieval-augmented generation, large language models, agentic AI workflows, and evidence synthesis tools. These capabilities help health workers, researchers, programme managers, and decision-makers access trusted information faster, interpret complex health data, and translate evidence into action.
Our team brings together more than 120 years of combined expertise across medicine, public health, One Health, health policy, digital health, software and hardware engineering, artificial intelligence, evidence synthesis, and project management. With team members and collaborators working across three continents — Africa, Europe, and the United States — ABAY-CHR combines global technical experience with a strong understanding of local health system realities.
In collaboration with governments, universities, health institutions, research organisations, and technology partners, ABAY-CHR is committed to building scalable, sustainable, and context-appropriate digital health and AI solutions that improve care, strengthen data use, support responsible innovation, and contribute to healthier communities.
